Secondary Trauma: A Course for Child Welfare Supervisors and Managers
Secondary traumatic stress (STS) is a significant concern in child welfare, due to the amount of trauma we are exposed to in our work. How does trauma impact you? Your staff? Their work with families and children? You will learn and practice a variety of strategies that will help you and your staff prevent and respond to secondary trauma, effective strategies for targeting STS at the worker, supervisor, and agency level, and a plan for addressing this issue in your agency. There is a follow-up 2-hour interactive live session, where you will share and receive ideas from other supervisors and managers.
