Lane’s professional interests include organizational and leadership development, family-centered services and child welfare supervision.
Before coming to the university, Lane worked for nineteen years in the county and state child welfare systems in North Carolina, first as a county practitioner and supervisor, and then as a state level field consultant.
She has provided management, supervisory, team-building, and conflict resolution training and consultation with human services agency board members, directors, supervisors, and other social workers for many years in workshops and conferences nationally and internationally. She believes strongly in the building of positive relationships in organizations, groups, and teams to accomplish important tasks together.
